Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The ready biodegradability of Montaverdi was assessed in the Manometric Respirometry test (Procedure C.4 -D of the Annex to Directive 92/69/EEC; OECD Procedure 301 F). Montaverdi was added to two flasks containing mineral salts medium inoculated with activated sludge (30 mg solids/litre) and to one flask containing ultrapure water alone (abiotic control) to give a nominal concentration of 100 mg/I. The substance was degraded by 10% after 4.5 days and by 60% after 14.5 days; a mean of 79% degradation was achieved after 28 days. The level of abiotic degradation of Montaverdi was insignificant (0.1 % of its ThOD). Based on this result Montaverdi can be considered to be readily biodegradable.
