EC50 (48 h): > 100 mg/L for Daphnia magna (OECD 202)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One GLP Guideline study is available investigating the short-term effects of 1,3-butylene diacetate (CAS 1117-31-3) to aquatic invertebrates (Vryenhoef, 2012). The study was performed according to OECD 202 with the water flea Daphnia magna. Test concentrations of 10, 18, 32, 56 and 100 mg/L were applied and verified analytically by GC/FID. Since measured concentrations did not differ by more than 20%, the effect concentrations were based on the nominal test concentrations. No immobilization was recorded after 48 h resulting in an EC50 (48 h) of > 100 mg/L.
