First-aid measures
INHALATION: Move individual to fresh air. Get medical attention if breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artifical respiration. Call a physician immediately.EYES: In case of accidental contact remove contact lenses and rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention.SKIN: Wash off immediately with plenty of eater for at least 15 minutes. Take of all contaminated cl othing immediately. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.INGESTION: If conscious, give the victim plenty of water to drink. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician immediately
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable Extinguishing media: Water, carbon dioxide, dry chemical.Unusual fire and explosion hazard: Dust may form explosive mixture in air. Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions.Special Protective Equipment for Fire fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and prote ctive clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
Accidental release measures
Methods for cleanup: Vacuum material with appropriate dust collection filter in place. Be aware of potential for dust explosion when using electrical equipment. If vacuum is not available, lightly mist material and remove by sweeping or wet wiping. Wear protective equipment, including eye protection, to avoid exposure. Prevent entry to waterways, sewers, and surface drains.
Handling and storage
HANDLING: The substance will be stored, handled and used under conditions of good industri al hygiene and in conformity with any local regulations, in order to avoid exposure to the extent technically feasible. The substance should be handled by trained individuals wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (Tyvek Pro Tech coveralls, nitrile gloves (EN 374, EN 455), safety glasses(EN166) or half-face respirator(EN 149)).STORAGE: Beta Ketosulfide is packaged in polypropylene tote bags with conductive strips and antist atic polythene liners, fibre drums with polyethylene liners, or in a HDPE flatbag in open top HDPE drum. The liners are armorflex 104 liners. Store refrigerated (2 to 8°C). Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Beta Ketosulfide is packaged in polypropylene tote bags (325 kg capacity) with conductive strips and antistatic polythene liners, fibre drums (50 kg capacity) with polyethylene liners, or in a HDPE flatbag (50 kg capacity) in open top HDPE drum.The liners are armorflex 104 liners. The quantity for the polypropylene tote bags is 325 kgs. The fibre drums are HDPE flatbags contain 50kgs each.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Use a properly fitted, air purifying or air fed respirator complying with an approved standard if a risk assessment indicated that is necessary. Respirator selection must be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazards of the product and the safe working limits of the respirator. Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn at all tim es when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. After contami nation with product change the gloves immediately and dispose of them according to relevant regulations. <1hour (breakthrough time): Butyl rubber, Nitrile Rubber or Polyvinyl Chloride.Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists, gases or dusts.
