Description of key information

A test where the test substance in water saturated n-octanol (1.0 mg/L) was shaken with an equal amount of n-octanol saturated water, showed easy emulsifying. After 30 minutes the upper layer appeared as a white opaque solution and the lower layer as a translucent white liquid. It was concluded that the test substance may be surface active thus not suitable for testing (shake flask or HPLC) (Harlan 2012a)
On two representative constituents a calculation was performed with KOWWIN 1.67 leading to a log Pow of 11 (Harlan 2012a).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
11

Additional information

The value indicated above is of limited quality. No experimental quantification of the log Pow could be made. Both QSAR assessments showed a similar outcome. A log Pow of 11 will be used in risk assessment.
