First-aid measures

General information: As a general rule, in case of doubt or if symptoms persist, always call a doctor.Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If unconscious, placein recovery position and seek medical advice.
In case of inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable and well-ventilated for breathing. In case of irritation of respiratory system or mucous membranes and/or indisposition and/or prolonged exposure, seek medical attention.
In case of skin contact: Flush skin with plenty of mild soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Do not use organic solvents. If sticky, use waterless cleaner first. Get medical aid if irritation develops or persists. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing.
In case of eye contact: Check for and remove any contact lenses. Immediately flush eyes with runningclean water for at least 15 minutes, keeping eyelids open. Obtain emergency medical attention (e.g. contact ophthalmologist) if pain, blinking, tears or redness persist.
In case of ingestion: Immediately give plenty (> 500 ml) of water (if possible charcol slurry). In case of spontaneous vomiting be sure that vomitus can freely drain due of danger of suffocation. Give water repeatedly. Do not induce vomiting/risk of damage to lungs exceeds poisoning risk. Give nothing by mouth in cases of unconsciousness or convulsion. Get medical attention immediately and show the container or label.
In case of body contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing.
Self-protection of the first-aiders: No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training.
Notes to physician: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific antidote.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, or appropriate foam.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reason: High volume water jet.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Emits toxic fumes under fire conditions.
Advice for fire-fighters: Wear full protective clothing. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Hazard decomposition products:Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, nitrogen & sulfur oxides or morpholine may form when heated to decomposition or in a fire involving this chemical.
Other information: Do not enter fire area without proper protection. Fight fire from safe distance/protected location. Apply aqueous extinguishing media carefully to prevent frothing/steam explosion. Use water spray for cooling. Avoid contact with molten product to prevent serious burns. Avoid raising powdered materials into airborne dust, creating an explosion hazard. Prevent fire-fighting water from entering surface water or groundwater. Contaminated water from fire hoses or sprinkler etc must be prevented from draining into watercourses, sewers or the ground water. Sufficient measures must be taken to retain water used for extinguishing. Contaminated water and soil must be disposed of in conformity with local regulations. Notify authorities if liquid enters sewer/public waters.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. Remove all sources of ignition. Ventilate area of leak or spill. Evacuate surrounding areas. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Do not touch or walk through spit material. Provide adequate ventilation. Wear appropriate respirator when ventilation is inadequate. Avoid inhalation of dust. Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged skin contact. Put on appropriate personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water, sanitary sewer or ground water system. Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into watercourses must be IMMEDIATELY alerted to the Environmental Agency or other appropriate regulatory body.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up Spills/Leaks: Remove unnecessary people. Clean up spills in a manner that does not disperse dust into the air. Avoid raising dust. Use mechanical handling equipment. Collect the spilled product into suitable containers which must be tightly sealed and properly labelled. Precautions if chemical is spilled or released:Released material poses a dust explosion hazard if it becomes airborne in the presence of an ignition source. Extinguish all ignition sources. Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: As a general rule,
- not to eat, drink and smoke in work areas ;
- to wash hands after use and;
- to remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.
In accordance with good industrial practice, handle with care and avoid unnecessary personal contact. Avoid generation of dusts. Avoid skin and eye contact. Provide good ventilation. Keep away from ignition sources. Handle according to industrial hygiene principles and relevant legal provisions.
For optimum results, use within 6 months of receipt. This chemical is not expected to present an explosion hazard during normal transportation and storage operations. However, when dispersed in air and subject to sufficient energy of ignition, it may pose a dust explosion hazard. Minimize the energy of ignition, it may pose a dust explosion hazard. Minimize the potential for dust explosion by eliminating/controlling ignition sources (bond and ground), and by using good housekeeping practices during storage, transfer, handling and use to avoid excessive dust accumulation.
Containers of this chemical may be hazardous when empty since they retain product residues (dust, solids); observe all warnings and precautions listed for the product.

Use good housekeeping practices to avoid rendering dust airborne and prevent electrostatic charge formation during transfer and use of this chemical. Ensure that all equipment and containers are adequately grounded. Vapours generated from overheating/decomposition may be flammable and may cause fire/explosion if source of ignition is present. Protection against fire and explosion.
Condition and materials to avoid: Direct sunlight, excessive light, moisture, oxidizing conditions, excessively high temperatures, sparks and open flame, dusting conditions.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Keep container tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place against strong oxidizers when not in use and during transport, prevent contamination with foreign materials. Keep chemical away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks, open flame and other ignition sources. Keep away from food and drink. Store in the original container securely closed. Protect from moisture and physical damage.
Risk of explosion if an air-dust mixture forms. Avoid creating dusty conditions. Empty only into earthed containers. If container is larger than 2000 litre in volume or when flammable solvents are present inert container or use a system otherwise designed to prevent or contain an explosion - seek expert advice.

Appropriate engineering controls: Work in well ventilated areas. Local exhaust ventilation is generally required because it can control the emissions of the contaminant and its source, preventing dispersion of it into the general work area.

Use only with adequate ventilation / personal protection. Before using this chemical or products containing this chemical, read EESDS. Hygiene measures:Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling this chemical or products containing this chemical, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period. Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing. Do not eat, drink or smoke while working. Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and food. During synthesis, formulation or application, follow good industrial hygiene practice. Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.
Respiratory protection: Use NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator or dust mask if airborne particulate is generated when handling this chemical. High levels of protection would also be required for laboratory workers handling the chemical.
