Description of key information

NOEC (3h) >=1000 mg/L(nominal) for respiration inhibition of activated sludge (OECD 209). The inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriate low concentrations.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
1 000 mg/L

Additional information

One study is available on the toxicity of 4,4´-(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)bis(2-chloroaniline) (CAS No. 107934-68-9) to aquatic microorganisms (Soeter, 2013). The study was performed according to OECD guideline 209 and GLP, with activated sludge of a predominantly domestic sewage. The test was conducted as limit test with a nominal test concentration of 1000 mg/L. After 3h of incubation no respiration inhibition of the microorganisms was observed.
