Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2014
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling point/boiling range)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
other: Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA)/Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
> 300 - < 330 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Pressure was not reported

An endothermic/exothermic effect was found between 300°C and 330 °C. At this temperature, the test item and/or its decomposition products decompose.

Conclusions:
No definite boiling point was observed for 1,2-Propanediamine, N1-(2-aminoethyl)-3-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-, dihydrochloride, (2S)-.
Executive summary:

The boiling point of 1,2-Propanediamine, N1-(2-aminoethyl)-3-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-, dihydrochloride, (2S)- was tested according to OECD Guideline 103 in a DTA/DSC system with a heating rate of 5 K/min in crucible made of aluminium with perforated lid and no pressure was reported. No definite boiling point was observed for 1,2-Propanediamine, N1-(2-aminoethyl)-3-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-, dihydrochloride, (2S)-. A thermic effect was found between 300 °C and 330 °C. At this temperature, the test item and/or its decomposition products (which could arise at a lower temperature) decompose.

Description of key information

No definite boiling point was observed for 1,2-Propanediamine, N1-(2-aminoethyl)-3-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-, dihydrochloride, (2S)-.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Temperature of decomposition (state purity):
330 °C

Additional information

An endothermic/exothermic effect was found between 300°C and 330 °C. At this temperature, the test item and/or its decomposition products decompose.
