Description of key information

The melting/freezing point of the test material is recorded as being < -10ºC or < 263.15 K

The melting/freezing point of the test material has been addressed by providing one key study and six supporting studies.

Lide (2009) has been provided as the key literature and it states that the melting/freezing point of the test material is < -10 °C. The data originates from a peer reviewed handbook citing physical data as found in the literature, which was assigned a reliability score of 2 using the principles for assessing data quality as set out in Klimisch (1977).

The six supporting studies consist of two company material safety data sheets, two internet references and two sets of data taken from a QSAR; Alfa Aesar MSDS (2007), Chemical Book MSDS (2012), Chemical Product Property Data (2012), Chemical Synthesis (2012) and EPISuite (2012). They have all been assigned a reliability score of 4 according to Klimisch (1977) as it is not possible to assess the accuracy of the data from the limited information they provide. The continuity between these sources is sufficient to act as supporting data confirming the melting point of the test material to be < -10 °C.
