Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test material to aquatic invertebrates was investigated using Daphnia magna in a GLP study in accordance with the standardised guidelines EU Method C.2 and OECD 202. Daphinds were exposed to a range of test concentrations under static freshwater conditions. The measured concentrations of test material were fairly consistent with nominal values but reduced somewhat with time as the test material hydrolysed to form phenoxyethanol. Since the balancing of both components showed levels of over 90% in the assays, results were evaluated using nominal test concentrations. A plot of % inhibition versus test material concentration enabled the EC50 value of 24 mg/L to be determined.

The study was performed in line with GLP and accepted guidelines, however the reporting was incomplete. A sufficient level of detail was available to assess the quality of the presented results and accordingly the study was assigned a reliability score of 2 in line with the principles for assessing data quality set out in Klimisch (1997).
