Additional information

This study was conducted in order to collect data necessary to specify Type III Monitoring Chemical Substance newly provided in the act (49th of 2003 Act, referred to as Amendment Act) based on The test method stipulated in "On the Test Method Related to New Chemical Substances" and the test method stipulated in "On the Test Method for Hazard Research Related to Type III Monitoring Chemical Substance" in accordance with Standard of Test Facility Implementing Test Related to New Chemical Substance. Tested nominal concentration were 0.21, 0.47, 1.03, 2.27, and 5.00 mg/L, based on the result of a preliminary test. Measured concentration at the beginning is low due to absorption of filter. Geometric mean of measured concentrations were used to calculate EC50 value and NOEC.

ErC50 (0-72) calculated by probit method was 0.67 mg/L and its 95% confidence interval was 0.63~0.72 mg/L. No effect concentration [NOEC (0-72h)] obtained through Dunnett type examination was 0.18 mg/L.

EbC50 (0-72h) calculated by probit method was 0.41 mg/L and its 95% confidence interval was 0.38~0.45 mg/L. No effect concentration [NOEC ( 0-72h)] obtained through Dunnett type examination was 0.08 mg/L.

In a supportive study without analytical control an EC50 (based on biomass, 72h) of 1.4 mg/l was found and a very steep dose response relationship was observed (no effect at 1.1 mg/L and strong inhibition at 3.3 mg/L). However, as no analytical control was established, results are based on nominal concentrations and thus considered only supportive.
