Remarks:
Deviating from Lead competent Authority (LCA) proposal, it is proposed not to classify the substance as Xi; R38 irritant to skin (see section 7.3). The LCA classification proposal is based on mean values at reading times 1, 24, and 48 h, which is not supported in the DSD regulation, where reading times 24, 48, and 72 h are mandatory. Applying reading times 24, 48, and 72 h as requested in DSD regulation, the erythema and edema scores always are below cut-off criteria for classification.
