Description of key information

Studies were conducted to determine the acute toxicity of the test material DEGDB to freshwater fish (Rainbow Trout and Fathead minnow).

The studies were conducted according to EC, OECD, and US EPA test guidelines, and in compliance with GLP.

The 96 h LL50 value for DEGDB with rainbow trout was 2.9 mg/L, with the no-observed effect loading rate (NOELR) of 0.06 mg/L (HLS 2001, VCL243/974218).

The 96 h LL50 value with fathead minnow  was 3.9 mg/L and the NOELR was 1.5 mg/L (HLS 2001, VCL244/974219).

For chemical safety assessment, the lowest value is chosen and therefore the LL50 of DEGDB for freshwater fish is 2.9 mg/L. The 96h LL50 to freshwater fish is shown to be <10mg/L.
