Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Administration of oxygen or fresh air. Seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with copious amounts of water with open eyelid for
several minutes. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with copious amounts of water. Take off
contaminated clothing immediately. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Then, drink plenty of water. Seek
medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam and carbon dioxide.

Residues of combustion and contaminated water from fire
measures have to be disposed according to regulations of the
competent authority.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn evolving

noxious fumes including oxides of carbon and nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Circulating air independent respirator.

Avoid inhaling of evolving gases.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Keep unprotected persons away. Remove all ignition sources.
Take up spilt material mechanically. Use appropriate
industrial vacuum cleaner to avoid dust formation.

Carefully transfer the spilt material to waste containers
which must be tightly closed and labelled according to TRGS
201.

While taking up the spilt material and cleaning the polluted
area avoid skin and eye contact as well as inhalation of the
substance by wearing appropriate personal protective equip-
ment (see section "Handling").

Do not drain into surface water or canalisation.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle under vacuum and in rooms with:

- suitable air filter system

- plain, seamless floor.

Personal protective equipment:

- filtering half-mask (EN 140) particle filter P2 (EN 143)

- protective gloves category III (EN 374), e.g. Camatril,

Green (Nitril), Art.No. 732, company: KCL, durability:

level 6 (480 min)

- goggles with lateral protection

- safety clothing.

Industrial hygiene:

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not inhale dust.

As far as possible, dustproof equipment should be used
during filling, transfer and metered feeding as well as
during sampling.

Wash hands for breaks and at work finishing time.

Keep working clothing separate from outdoor clothing.

In cases where dusts can form, due to the potential dust-
explosion risk, potential sources of ignition should be
removed from the working area. In addition, measures should
be taken to prevent electrostatic discharges.

Storage: Store the substance in the original packing drums or other
secure containers which are labelled according to the
regulations. Keep them tightly closed and secure them
against falling by taking the appropriate measures.

Avoid residues on the outside of the containers and
formation of dust.

Protect containers from heat and direct insolation.

Static discharges must be avoided.

Keep away from food, beverage and animal food.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene bag in barrels.

Content: 40 kg

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Mechanical recovery of the substance and disposal in
appropriate containers.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate - high temperature - long burn with flue gas
scrubbing.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Controlled discharge to waste water treatment plant
(notifier to specify conditions).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.
