Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Always seek medical attention in case of

significant exposure.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately and as long as possible with plenty of

water. Eyelids should be held away from the eyeball to

ensure thorough rinsing. Always seek medical advise.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing immediately. Wash off with

pleanty of soap and water. Always seek medical advice.

Launder clothes before re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth, give water to drink. Always seek medical

attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water-spray, foam, fire-extinguishing powder, carbon

dioxide.

Not suitable: halones

Product arising from burning: Normal hydrocarbon pyrolysis products, depending on

combustion conditions

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: wear suitable protective clothing

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Beware of spontaneous combustion if ambient temperature

exceeds SADT. dilute with high-flashpoint organic solvents

or absorb onto non-flammable absorbents (e.g. sand or

kieselguhr). Do not allow substance to run into sewer

systems.

Handling and storage

Handling: Never weigh out inside the storage room. Keep product and

emptied containers away from heat and sources of ignition.

Confiment must be avoided.

When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Avoid contact witj

skin and eyes. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Notified substance: Store at minus 25 degreees centigrade in

tightly closed containers, away from direct sunlight, heat

and sources of ignition.

Trade preparation: Store at minus 20 degreees centigrade in

tightly closed containers, away from direct sunlight, heat

and sources of ignition. Keep away from reduceing agents,

acids, alkalis and heavy metal compounds (e.g accelarators),

dries, metal soaps). Confinement must be avoided

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Tightly polypropylene containers, in deepfreeze storage or

transport containers at -25 degr C (-20 degrees for trade

preparation)

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Frostbite when handling containers in storage.

A dangerous self-accelerating decomposition reaction and

uder ceratin circumstnces explosion or fire can be caused by

direct contact wiht incompatible substances, or by thermal

decomposition at and above -5 degrees C (-0 degreec C for

trade preparation). Store at -25 degrees C (-20 fro trade

preparation)

Chemical reaction with water: Product does not react with water, but if temperature

exceeds SADT, spontaneous combustion may occur.

Dust explosion: n.a.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The notified substance will be used as a chemical

intermediate. Recycling is therefore not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: absorb onto non-flammable absorbent material (eg. sand,

kieselguhr) or dilute with high-flashpoint organic solvent

(e.g. white spirit) or cover with water spray.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Dilute with high-flashpoint organic solvent (e.g. white

spirit) and send off for controlled incineration

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Controlled inceneration according to local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: ? Not known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: ? none known.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: not applicable
