Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move exposed subject to fresh air. Seek medical assitance in

case of known or possible overexposure to this material, or

with symptoms including chest pain, difficulty with

breathing, loss of conciousness or other adverse effects

which may be delayed. If breating has stopped, start basic

life support and seek immediate medical assistance.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes continuosly with water for at least 15 minutes.

Do not use a chemical neutraliser.

Obtain medical assistance if symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and flush extensively with

large amounts of water.

Obtain medical assistance if skin reactions occur.

Do not use a chemical neutraliser.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: In the event of swallowing this material, seek immediate

medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, foam or dry chemical extinguishers

Product arising from burning: Toxic or corrosive gases including oxides of carbon and

nitrogen

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self contained breathing apparatus and full protective

equipment are recommended for firefighters.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Remove or shut off all sources of ignition.

Carefully scoop up the spillage and place in a suitable,

properly labelled container for recovery or disposal. take

care to avoid excessive dust when cleaning up. If waste

water can be directed in onsite water treatment system, wash

down the spillage area with copious amounts of water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Keep away from heat and ignition sources.

Avoid inhalation, ingestion or contact with the skin.

This material has not been tested for its dust explosion

properties. However, like most organic dusts it is likely to

explode when ignited as a dust cloud. Care should be taken

to avoid dispersion as a dust cloud. All equipment used for

handling this material should be bonded and earthed.

Storage: Keep in tightly closed containers or packages. Avoid

prolonged storage at elevated temperatures (greater than

room temperature 20°C).

Keep away from heat and ignition sources.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, since the substance is fully transformed by

its use as chemical reagent in synthesis and is incorporated

in the final farmaceutical product.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The prevailing dangerous characteristics of the substance is

its flammability. By application of the precautions given in

point A.2.5. the dangers are adequately prevented and

neutralised.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Controlled discharge of the substance is not recommended.

The substance should preferably be treated as dangerous

chemical waste and be destroyed by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Destruction by incineration, in an agreed centre for

destruction for industrial waste, is recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Unless tests in practice show that the substance is well

degraded in an on-site industrial waste water treatment

installation, the destruction by waste water purification is

not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.
