First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 5

minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water fog, carbon dioxide, foam or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen and some soot (also a slight possibility of

hydrogen cyanide).

Protective equipment: Protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus

should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1). Isolate

spillage, do not allow to enter sewers, ditches or water

systems. Sweep up spill and transfer to suitable containers.

Dispose of by incineration in accordance with local

regulations. The local authority should be informed if the

spill enters the drainage system.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. An approved toxic dust

respirator with full-face mask or an approved full-face

positive-pressure air respirator is recommended. Protective

clothing, goggles and butyl rubber, neoprene or nitrile

gloves should also be worn.

(The respiratory equipment should conform to BS5240,

BS2092:1 and EN146 class THP2 for the helmet respirator and

prEN141 class 1 for the gas filter fitted to the helmet).

Storage: Store in lacquer-lined drums.
