Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air and keep patient at rest. Seek immediate

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with water while holding eyelids open for at least 15

minutes. Seek medical attention immediately.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Flush area with large amounts

of water. Use soap. Seek medical attention immediately.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Wash

out mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting unless directed

by medical personnel. Seek medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Fires involving this material may be extinguished with CO2,

extinguishing powder, foam or water.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a

fire, evolving noxious fumes (eg carbon and nitrogen

oxides and fluorine containing compounds).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn to prevent contact with skin and

eyes.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Personnel involved in clean-up should wear appropriate

personal protective equipment.

Contain the source of spill if it is safe to do so. Collect

spilled material by a method that controls dust generation.

A damp cloth or filtered vacuum should be used to clean

spills of dry solids. Clean spill area thoroughly. Place

waste in an appropriately labelled, sealed container for

disposal. Care should be taken to avoid environmental

release.

Non-essential personnel should be evacuated from affected

area. Report emergency situations immediately. Clean up

operations should be undertaken by trained personnel.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used under

conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with

any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.

Ground and bond all bulk transfer equipment. Avoid open

handling. Use local exhaust ventilation to perform work

under hood/fume cupboard.

Avoid inhalation and contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

When handling, use appropriate PPE.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate

international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves eg. to Standard EN374

Chemical protective clothing eg. to Standard EN368

Eye protection eg. to Standard EN166.

Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be

used, it must be capable of adequately controlling

exposure, be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the

appropriate international or national standards, such as a

dust mask conforming to EN12941.

These measures should be regarded as a minimum.

Storage: Store at room temperature in properly labelled containers.

Keep away from heat, sparks and flames.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Manufacture: The substance will be packaged in double

polyethylene liner in 30-50 kg capacity plastic drums.

Use: ILC Dover bulk bags.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: None which is hazardous.

Dust explosion: There is a potential dust explosion hazard from this organic

powder.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not

economically or technically feasible, and such waste

material will be disposed of by incineration. In principle,

it may be possible to recover larger spillages of

uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have shown that the substance is

harmful by acute oral ingestion, a skin sensitiser, toxic by

prolongued oral exposure and potentially mutagenic.

No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the

hazardous health properties.

The dust explosion hazard will be minimised by appropriate

handling and storage.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon and

nitrogen oxides, and fluorine containing compounds) could be

formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: None known.
