Description of key information

The substance is a reaction mass of L-alanyl-L-tyrosine hydrochloride and potassium chloride. As the individual components have different logKow values the results for the the relevant components are presented rather that the mixture being treated as a single component.

The only relevant organic compounds of the substance are L-alanyl-L-tyrosine (concentration of L-alanyl-L-tyrosine hydrochloride: 38 - 42%(w/w)) and L-alanine (typical concentration of L-alanine hydrochloride: 4 - 7%(w/w)).

The partition coefficient of the substance L-alanyl-L-tyrosine was calculated with a valid QSAR modell (KOWWIN). The resulting logKow is -0.03.

The partition coefficient of the substance L-alanine was retrieved from peer-reviewed handbook data. The resulting logKow is -2.74.

The worst case value was determined as key value for chemical safety assessment.
