Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: The test method to determine Pourpoint is ASTM D5950 that covers determination of pour point by an automatic instrument that tilts the test jar during cooling and detects movement of the surface of the test specimen with an optical device
Version / remarks:
ASTM D5950 for pourpoint
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The pour point is an index of the lowest temperature of its utility for certain applications. The test method to determine Pourpoint is ASTM D5950 that covers the determination of pour point by an automatic instrument that tilts the test jar during cooling and detects movement of the surface of the test specimen with an optical device. This test method is designed to cover the range of temperatures from −66 °C to +51 °C. Test results from this test method can be determined at 1 °C or 3 °C intervals.

ca. -27 °C
Remarks on result:
other: According to ASTM D5950
Remarks:
Detailed explanation of the test is described in the ASTM D5950 method. Due to business reasons, detailed test procedure is reported in laboratory reports and only method number is provided.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The pour point of the substance was determined to be -27 C.
Executive summary:

The pour point is an index of the lowest temperature of its utility for certain applications. The test method to determine Pourpoint is ASTM D5950 that covers the determination of pour point by an automatic instrument that tilts the test jar during cooling and detects movement of the surface of the test specimen with an optical device. This test method is designed to cover the range of temperatures from −66 °C to +51 °C. Test results from this test method can be determined at 1 °C or 3 °C intervals. Therefore, pour point of the intermediate substance was determined to be -27 C based on specified ASTM method number.
