The samples taken from the test media (approx. 100 ml) were treated as follows:
10 ml of a sample was led through an activated Sep C18 column followed by eluation with 1 ml methanol (Merck, lichrosolv), The 100 µl eluent was diluted with methanol and internal standard in such a way that the response of the gas chromatograph was comparable with that recorded for a calibration standard of concentrations approximately of 250 mg/L.
