Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2002 report date
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Literature reference and company specific data
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Ten to twenty (10 – 20) %-increased amounts of trehalose dihydrate, which is estimated to be dissolved at each temperature, and 10 mL of water were added in screw-top bottles, and dissolved at each temperature. Samples were taken with time, and water contents were measured by the diatomaceous earth method after filtration using a 0.45-μm membrane to remove microcrystals. The end point is the timing that the water content comes to equilibrium. The solubility is shown as the weight dissolved in 100 g of deionized water on the solid basis (g).
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
other: modified shake flask method
