Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No experimental result on the hydrolytic degradation for the registered substance with CAS No. 68424 -31 -7 is available. However, in accordance with column 2 of EC 1907/2006 Annex VIII the testing does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. Fatty acids, C5-10, esters with pentaerythritol (CAS-No. 68424-31-7) is readily biodegradable. Therefore, hydrolysis is not considered to be a relevant degradation pathway.

Based on an estimation using SRC AOP v1.92 with smiles notation, the registered substance and Fatty acids, C5-10, esters with pentaerythritol (under CAS-No. 68424-31-7) is susceptible to indirect photodegradation in air. The estimated half time for the reaction with OH-radicals is 0.335 – 0.815 days (24 hr day; OH-concentration 0.5E+06 OH/cm³).

However, indirect photodegradation in air is not a relevant rout since the substance is not likely to be present in the atmosphere due to the low vapor pressure (<0.001Pa).
