Administrative data

Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted for explosives
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
According to REACH Annex VII/column 2, the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is explosive.
As presented under IUCLID Section 4.14, the substance is classified as Explosive of Division 1.1.
Therefore the study is not required, and the hazard class is not relevant.
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference

The substance is classified as an explosive, with mass explosion hazard.

Explosiveness:
explosive

Experimental data is available with regard to impact sensitivity, friction, priming the detonation, and deflagration, and is considered sufficient for classification purpose.

Supporting literature provides additional information on thermal properties and performances of the explosive.

Classification was performed according to testing protocol and decision tree described in French Arrêté and Circulaire of 20/04/2007, relating to risk assessment and prevention of accidents in pyrotechnique plants.

Considering the substance was assigned to the worst-case division 1.1, no new testing was deemed necessary.
