Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Aquatic acute toxicity

48 h, EC50 (Daphnia magna): >0.188 mg/L (geometric mean measured; solubility limit of the test item in the test medium, corresponding to a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L)

7 d, ErC50 (Lemna gibba): >0.121 mg/L (geometric mean measured; corresponding to a loading rate of 5 mg/L)

7 d, NOEC (Lemna gibba): >0.121 mg/L (geometric mean measured; corresponding to a loading rate of 5 mg/L)

Biodegradation

Not readily biodegradable: 3.8 % after 28 days (OECD 301 D)

Partition coefficient:

log Pow: -0.6 (20 °C)

No lethal or sub-lethal effects for invertebrates and no significant inhibition of growth rate and yield of Lemna gibba were detected up to the solubility limit of Leuco Sulphur Brown in the test media.

Conclusion on classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. Up to the solubility limit of the test item no effects were shown. In combination with the low Pow, the substance is not considered to be classified as hazardous for aquatic toxicity under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the twelfth time in Regulation (EU) 2019/521.
