Preliminary test:

organic solvent Amount (g) Volume (mL) Temperature (˚C) Solubility range (g/L) Amount for main test (g)
n-octanol 0.1024 10 20 200-100 0.4

Main test:

organic solvent Amount (g) Volume (mL) Temperature (˚C) Solubility range (g/L)
n-octanol 0.4018 3 20 133-160
n-octanol 0.4011 3 20 133-160
Conclusions:
Under study conditions, the n-octanol solubility of the test substance, C18 ADBAC, was determined to be in range of 133-160 g/L.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the n-octanol solubility of the test substance, C18 ADBAC (active: 97.6%) at 20˚C, according to CIPAC MT 181 (solubility in organic solvents). The solubility of the test substance was found to be <200-100 g/L in a preliminary test at room temperature. Therefore, the main test was conducted and the n-octanol solubility was determined to range from 133 -160 g/L (Wannenwetsch, 2018).

Description of key information

The n-octanol solubility of the test substance was determined according to CIPAC MT 181: solubility in organic solvents (Wannenwetsch, 2018).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

At the temperature of:
20 °C
Solubility in organic solvents at 20°C:
160 g/L

Additional information

n-octanol solubility was determined to range from 133 -160 g/L. As a conservative approach, the upper value has been considered further for hazard/risk assessment.
