Additional information

The boiling point of the substance was determined using photocell detection and thermal analysis (DSC/TGA) methods in accordance with OECD 103. 3-[Tris(acetoxy)silyl]propyl methacrylate was observed to undergo thermal decomposition, degradation or rearrangement from about 128°C, colour change from transparent clear liquid to slight yellowish liquid, at about 215°C boiling was observed. The result is considered to be reliable and selected as key study.

In addition, a boiling point of 320°C was predicted for 3-[tris(acetoxy)silyl]propyl methacrylate using a validated QSAR method. The prediction does not account for the potential for the submission substance to undergo decomposition, degradation or rearrangement, but it is considered sufficient to indicate the theoretical boiling point of the substance without decomposition and it is used as a supporting study.
