Melting point / melting range: DSC measurement

Three DSC measurements with a heating rate of 10 K/min showed an endothermal effect (melting) in the temperature range of 100 – 135 °C. The onset temperature (seeTable1) was derived from the intersection of the tangent line with the highest slope of the endothermal peak with the baseline. After melting the test item decomposed. The results of the DSC measurements are summarized inTable 1.

Under consideration of the result from the DSC measurement and the visual inspection of the test item after the measurement it was concluded that the test item melted within a temperature range of 119 – 122 °C.

Executive summary:

The test item had a melting range of 119 – 122°C.
