Description of key information

According to REACH Annex X, endpoint 9.5.1, column 2, long-term testing to sediment organisms shall be proposed by the registrant if the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates the need to investigate further the effects on sediment organisms. Due to the absence of toxicity data for sediment organisms, the equilibrium partitioning method was applied to assess the hazard to sediment organisms. The outcome of the environmental risk assessment based on the available data indicates safe use. Furthermore, propyl gallate has no high potential to adsorb to sediment due to its log Kow of 1.8. Therefore, further testing is not required.
