Boiling pt.:
ca. 314.9 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013 hPa
Decomposition:
no

First determination:(atmospheric pressure: 1040 hPa)

Initial boiling point was observed at 316.3°C (onset temperature of the first peak) and a corresponding mass loss was observed on the TG curve, showing that all the substance was evaporated at the end of the study.The crucible was visually checked after the determination: By opening the crucible, no test item left in the crucible and no sign of decomposition was observed.

Second determination:(atmospheric pressure: 1036 hPa)

Initial boiling point was observed at 316.1°C (onset temperature of the first peak) and a corresponding mass loss was observed on the TG curve, showing that all the substance was evaporated at the end of the study.The crucible was visually checked after the determination: By opening the crucible, no test item left in the crucible and no sign of decomposition was observed.

In case of small pressure deviations the boiling temperature at standard pressure can be calculated following the equation of Sidney-Young.

Tn= T + (ƒ x ∆p)

With

Tn  = boiling point at 101.325 kPa in K

T    = measured boiling point in K

ƒ    = correction factor (tabulated value)

∆p  = (101.325 – p) kPa

P   = measured atmospheric pressure in kPa

The corrected values following Sidney-Young equation were determined to be 314.9°C (mean of 314.9°C at 101.325 kPa for the first determination and 314.9°C at 101.325 kPa for the second determination).

Conclusions:
Initial boiling point of test item was determined to be 314.9°C (mean of 314.9°C at 101.325 kPa for the first determination and 314.9°C at 101.325 kPa for the second determination) and a corresponding mass loss was observed on the TG curve, showing that all the substance was evaporated at the end of the study.
The crucible was visually checked after the determination: By opening the crucible, no test item left in the crucible and no sign of decomposition was observed.
Executive summary:

The study was performed in order to determine the boiling point of test item according to OECD 103, resp. EU A.2, using the DSC method.

Description of key information

Initial boiling point of test item was determined to be 314.9°C (mean of 314.9°C at 101.325 kPa for the first determination and 314.9°C at 101.325 kPa for the second determination)

and a corresponding mass loss was observed on the TG curve, showing that all the substance was evaporated at the end of the study.

The crucible was visually checked after the determination: By opening the crucible, no test item left in the crucible and no sign of decomposition was observed.
