PRELIMINARY TEST

No melting of the test substance was observed. Also there was no visual change in the state of the test substance. Based on this result, performing the main test with the test substance is not needed.

 

MAIN TEST

The reference substance, chrysene, gave an average melting range of 252 - 255 °C, which, when compared to the expected melting point of 252 - 254 °C, indicated acceptable method accuracy.

Conclusions:
The melting temperature of the substance was determined using a capillary tube in accordance with OECD 102 (1993). As melting of the substance was not observed at temperatures of ≤ 400°C (≤ 673K), the substance has no melting temperature (up to 400°C).
