Conclusion on classification

Aquatic acute toxicity

48 h, EC50 Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna): 10.84 µg/L (geometric mean concentration)

96 h, LC50 Short-term toxicity to fish (Danio rerio (zebrafish)):  > 164 µg/L

72 h, ErC50 Toxicity to algae and cyanobacteria (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): 106 µg/L

Biodegradation:

Ready biodegradable: 87 % (% degradation O2 consumption) after 28 days (OECD 301 D)

Partition coefficient:

The partition coefficient log Pow of the test item was determined to be log Pow = 5.9 and 6.0 for the two minor isomers and log Pow  > 6.0 for the two major isomers.

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. The test substance was found to be readily biodegradable under the test conditions. The most sensitive test for the aquatic compartment was the toxicity test to aquatic invertebrates. This study revealed a 48h-EC50 of 10.84 µg/L. Based on these results, the substance is classified for short-term aquatic toxicity category 1 (H400: Very toxic to aquatic life) and for long-term aquatic toxicity category 1 (H410: Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) as amended for the tenth time in Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/776.
