Description of key information
Some experimental data (published scientific literature and grey literature) were identified informing on the toxicokinetic behaviour of yttrium. These data, together with information on the physicochemical characteristics of yttrium, are used to perform a qualitative assessment of the absorption, distribution/metabolism and elimination of yttrium metal.
The absorption of yttrium metal is assumed to be very limited and the following absorption factors were established: oral 1%, inhalation 1%, and dermal 1%. A detailed toxicokinetic evaluation is attached in section 13.
