Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Study not undertaken. Key values for the CSA have been taken from the fugacity model (IUCLID 5.4.3.) and are those for chlorendic acid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in freshwater:
0.003 h
at the temperature of:
25 °C
Half-life in freshwater sediment:
0.003 h
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Water (REACH Annex IX, section 9.2.1.2)

This endpoint is waived on grounds that;

1) The substance rapidly hydrolyses to acid

2) The CSA shows low levels of direct release to the aquatic compartment

3) The CSA demonstrates safety to organisms

Sediment (REACH Anne IX, Section 9.2.1.4)

1) The log Koc at 0.92 shows low tendency to partition to sediment

2) The fugacity model (IUCLID 5.4.3.) shows that the primary route of loss of chlorendic acid from the system was advection from the water compartment but degradation in the soil and water compartments was also significant.
