Description of key information

Estradiol was incubated in an aqueous solution with an algae population of Desmodesmus subspicatus for a duration of 72 hours; the algae were
exposed to each concentration in triplicate. Six vessels were prepared for the control. The algae were incubated under continuous light, and
controlled temperature. The study was conducted according to OECD 201.
Results: ZK 5018 had no concentration-depended inhibitory effect on the growth of Desmodesmus subspicatus. The EC50 (growth rate) was higher
than a saturated solution (3.1 mg/L).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
3.1 mg/L
