Description of key information

The Henry's Law Constant (HLC) of 3,3,3-trifluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)propene is calculated to be 80500 Pa m3/mol (25°C).

The values indicates that 3,3,3-trifluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)propene in a system water/air has a high tendency to distribute to the gas phase.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
80 500
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The Henry's Law Constant (HLC) of 3,3,3-trifluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)propene at 25°C is calculated to be 8.05E+04 Pa m³/mol (Ref: EUSES 2.1.2.).

(Input Parameter: Vapour Pressure at the Boiling Point (14°C) = 101325 Pa)

As reported in Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment_Chapter R.7a, substances with HLC values around 100 Pa·m3/mol, will have a rapid volatilisationfrom water.

Basing on the physical state of the substance and the calculated Henry’s Law constant value, 3,3,3-trifluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)propene is expected to have a low affinity for distributing in the water compartment.
