Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The laser diffraction test conducted to determine the Particle size analysis produced the following results:

Volume weighted mean: 7.556 micron

Median (d.50): 6.471 micron

Mode: 6.981 micron

MMAD: 6.439 micron

<10% of material: 2.728 micron

<50% of material: 6.471 micron

<90% of material: 14.020 micron

• 75.25% by volume of sample was seen to be < 10.00 um.

Due to dry powder module milling the sample to produce finer material, the analysis was carried out using the 'wet', small volume dispersion system.

Several solvents were tried, in order to determine a suitable medium that provided maximum dispersability, but with minimum solubility. Kerosene was finally selected as the most suitable dispersant.
