Method for Determination of
Density of Liquids (First Revision)
Determination of the mass at a given temperature of a volume of the material contained in a density
bottle (pycnometer) and determination of the volume of the latter by determining the mass of the corresponding volume of water at the same temperature. The density is obtained by dividing the mass of material by its volume.

The density of test chemical
3,7-dimethyloct-6-enyl isobutyrate was determined following OECD
guideline 109 and according to the Indian standard method for
determination of density of liquids [IS 4730:1994 (Reaffirmed 2010)].
The mean density of the test chemical 3,7-dimethyloct-6-enyl isobutyrate
was determined to be 0.8706 g/cm³ 20°C and 969.4 hPa.
The density of test chemical3,7-dimethyloct-6-enyl
isobutyratewas determined following OECD guideline 109 and

chemical3,7-dimethyloct-6-enyl isobutyratewas determined to
be 0.8706 g/cm³ 20°C and 969.4 hPa.
Other supporting studies from various
reliable handbook also indicates that the density of test chemical3,7-dimethyloct-6-enyl
isobutyratewas determined to be in the range of 0.870 g/cm3 to
0.880 g/cm3 at 25 degree C and 0.8816 g/cm3 at 15 degree C
As the data from lab has K1 reliability and
the test was performed using OECD guidelines which has the value of
density as 0.8706 g/cm3 at 20 degree C thus considered as key study for
the chemical safety assessment.
