An acute dermal irritation/corrosion study was conducted according OECD Guideline 404 with deviations (Analytical purity not reported. No GLP. Observation time too short).


3 New Zealand White rabbits were exposed to 0.5 g 1,2,3 -trichlorobenzene for 24 hours. Observation time points were 1h, 24h, 48, 72h and 7 days after removal of the patch.


The mean erythema score at 24-72h after exposure was 0.3 for 1/3 of the animals tested, 0 for the other ones. The oedema score between was found to have a value of 0 at 24 -72h after exposure.


On the basis of the data obtained 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene can not be classified as irritant.
