Description of key information

The Soil Adsorption Coefficient i.e Koc value of Tris(5-amino-4-hydroxy-3-(phenylazo)naphthalene-2,7-disulphonato(2-))dialuminium was estimated as Koc 41950 L/kg(log Koc=4.6227)  by means of MCI method at 25 deg.C. This Koc value indicates that the substance  Tris(5-amino-4-hydroxy-3-(phenylazo)naphthalene-2,7-disulphonato(2-))dialuminium has high sorption to soil and sediment and therefore have negligible  migration potential to groundwater.

Experimental and Predicted data of adsorption endpoint for the target chemical Tris(5-amino-4-hydroxy-3-(phenylazo)naphthalene-2,7-disulphonato(2-))dialuminium(Cas no. 68475-50-3)and its read across chemicals were reviewed to summarize as follows:  

Predicted model Estimation Programs Interface Suite™; 2016 indicate that the Soil Adsorption Coefficient i.e Koc value of Tris(5-amino-4-hydroxy-3-(phenylazo)naphthalene-2,7-disulphonato(2-))dialuminium was estimated as Koc 41950 L/kg(log Koc=4.6227) by means of MCI method at 25 deg.C. This Koc value indicates that the substance Tris(5-amino-4-hydroxy-3-(phenylazo)naphthalene-2,7-disulphonato(2-))dialuminium has high sorption to soil and sediment and therefore have negligible migration potential to groundwater.

Whereas from HSDB database the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of read across substance C.I. ORANGE (Cas no. 1936-15-8)G was found to be 0 using an estimated log Kow of -4.56 and a regression-derived equation.

This Koc value suggests that C.I. ORANGE G will have very high mobility in soil.

And another read across 2-aminonaphthalene-1-sulphonic acid (Cas no. 81-16-3) from HSDB database indicate that adsorption coefficient (Koc) of substance 2-aminonaphthalene-1-sulphonic acid was found to be 220 using a structure estimation method based on molecular connectivity indices.

This Koc value suggests that 2-amino-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid is expected to have high to moderate mobility in soil.

Thus based on the above all studies it is concluded that the test substance Tris(5-amino-4-hydroxy-3-(phenylazo)naphthalene-2,7-disulphonato(2-))dialuminium (Cas no. 68475-50-3) have high to moderate adsorption potential in the soil/sediment.
