Administrative data

Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII the oxidising properties study does not need to be conducted as the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, for example on the basis of the chemical structure. According to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria (Annex I §2.13.4./2.14.4., or as listed in the ECHA endpoint specific guidance on information requirements (R.7a, v4.1, October 2015, §R.7.1.13)), an organic substance does not have to be assessed for oxidising properties if the substance contains oxygen but this element is chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and especially not bonded to nitrogen or to another oxygen. Then oxidising properties are unlikely, and the classification procedure shall not apply, no further testing is required.
