Phototransformation in air: Weight of evidence: results from EPI Suite estimations. It is concluded that the rate constant for the vapor-phase reaction of ethyl chloroacetate with photochemically-produced hydroxyl radicals has been estimated as 1.211x10-12c m3/molecule-sec at 25ºC using the AopWin v1.92 model of EPI-Suite v3.20 calculation. This corresponds to an atmospheric half-life of about 8,8 days (12 -hours day) at an atmospheric concentration of 1,5 x 10+6 hydroxyl radicals/cm3.

Hydrolysis: A base-catalyzed second-order hydrolysis rate constant of 8.851 L/mol-sec was estimated using EPI Suite calculation (EPA, US); this corresponds to half-lives of 9,1 days and 21,8 h at pH values of 7 and 8, respectively.
