Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Move the affected person away from the contaminated area and into fresh air. If breathing difficulties persist: Give oxygen or oxygen enriched air (to be given by an authorised person.) Call a doctor
Skin Contact: Immediately wash the victim with plenty of water, whilst removing contaminated clothing. If the skin becomes inflamed (redness, irritation) call a doctor.
Eye Contact: Immediately rinse with water for a prolonged period whilst keeping eyes wide open. Always refer to a specialist, even if there are no immediate symptoms.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth out with water. If the person is fully conscious make him/her drink water (500ml max) NEVER give an unconscious person anything to drink. Transport to hospital.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media: Extinguish with carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam or water spray. Use water spray to cool containers.
Exposure Hazards: In combustion emits toxic fumes.
Protection of fire fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Stay upwind.

Accidental release measures

Personal Precautions: If outside do not approach from downwind. If outside keep bystanders upwind and away from danger point. Mark out the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to unauthorised personnel.
Environmental Precautions: Do not discharge into drains or rivers.
Clean-up procedures: Transfer to a closable, labelled salvage container for disposal by appropriate method.

Handling and storage

Handling Requirements: Avoid direct contact with the substance. Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the area. Do not handle in a confined space. Avoid the formation of dust or spread in the air.
Storage Requirements: Store in a well ventilated area in a tightly closed area. Avoid contact with alkalis and caustic products.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Workplace Exposure limits: No specific limits
Engineering measures: Extraction to remove dust at source, ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the work area.
Respiratory Protection: Self-contained breathing apparatus must be available in case of emergency. Respiratory protective device with particle filters.
Hand Protection: Protective gloves
Eye Protection: Safety glasses. Ensure eye bath is to hand.
Skin Protection: Protective clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Stability: Stable at ambient temperature and under normal conditions.
Conditions to avoid: Excessive heat. Decomposes on contact with hot surfaces and flames to emit toxic gases.
Materials to avoid: Strong oxidising agents. Strong bases.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Carbon oxides (CO + CO2)

Disposal considerations

The users attention is drawn to the possible existence of regional or national regulations regarding disposal.
Discharging waste into rivers and drains is forbidden.
