Description of key information

Measured BCF values ranging from < 0.3 to 6.3 in freshwater carp.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance bis(2-aminoethyl)amine (CASRN 111-40-0) was determined to exhibit very low biocentration in freshwater fish (Cyprinus carpio). The measured BCF values ranging from < 0.3 to 6.3 are consistent with such a substance having miscibility in water, low log Kow, and carrying ionic charge(s) under pH conditions encountered in the aquatic environment. The substance is therefore of very low concern for bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms.
