Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results

The DSC measurements were performed twice with slow controlled cooling rates (2 K/min).

The heat flow curve shows a sharp endothermic peak with a maximum temperature at -89°C caused by melting. Its extrapolated onset temperature (-91.86°C and -91.67°C respectively) indicates the melting temperature, rounded mean value: -92°C.

After the measurements the sample had lost 0.1/0.3 % (m/m) of its original mass. The residue inside the crucible looked unchanged, was colourless and liquid.

The melting temperature of the test item was determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to OECD Test Guideline 102 (adopted on 27 July 1995) and EU Method A.1 “Melting/freezing temperature”, Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Conclusions:
A melting point value of -92°C at 1013 hPa was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol, and in compliance with GLP.

Description of key information

Additional information

A melting point value of -92°C (1013 hPa) was determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to EU Test Method A.1. Measured melting point values of <-50°C and <0°C were obtained from secondary sources (non-assigned, company data).
