Instance: If one assumes a one hour skin contact (assuming T = 37°C and  intimate

 contact) with 1 dm2 of a PMMA polymer of any thickness and  having 1% MMA as an 

initial concentration, then the maximum possible  migration (assuming complete 

MMA uptake through the skin) is estimated to  be approx. 4.5 µg for WP = 1 and 

14 µg for WP = 0.99 conditions. In  relation to the maximum possible migration, 

even these overexaggerating  assumptions lead to relative migrations as low as 

between 0.0004% and  0.0012% of maximum possible migration in case of a 0.1 mm 

thick PMMA  layer. For thicker layers, for lower CP,0 values and in real life 

(where  only a fraction of the total MMA uptake can occur) the relative 

migration  would be one to several orders of magnitude lower.
