Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No measured data are available for long-term toxicity of TOPP to aquatic invertebrates. The long-term toxicity of the constituents of TOPP to invertebrates will be assessed later based on ECHA communication/decision number CCH-D-2114519392-52-01. In the interim, TOPP is a UVCB substance and the study does not need to be conducted because the needs associated with obtaining a sound understanding of long-term toxicity to invertebrates are adequately met by the available data on constituents. Compositional information has been used in conjunction with validated QSARs to derive No Observed Effect Concentrations (NOECs) for TOPP constituent blocks. Calculation of PNECs for the aquatic compartment will be based on the block NOECs rather than on data for the whole substance. Testing for long-term toxicity to invertebrates will therefore not contribute to the database that is required to complete the assessment of the substance.

NOEC values of 0.0025 and 0.46 mg/l have been reported for the effects of dimethyl disulfide (CAS 624-92-0) to Daphnia magna and Americamysis bahia.
