Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

There are no experimental data on transport and distribution of 2 -EHA available. The adsorption coefficient and Henry's Law constant can be calculated by validated Q(SAR) such as EPI Suite v4.11. Based on an estimated log Koc of 2.56, adsorption to solid soil phase may be possible, but is not expected. Henry's Law Constant was calculated to be 461 Pa*m3/mol indicating a rapid evaporation of the substance from the water surface into the atmosphere.

Using the fugacity model of Mackay (Level 1), the theoretical distribution at equilibrium was estimated. About 91 % of the total amount of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate is expected to be distributed to the atmosphere and about 1 % is allocated to surface water. About 4 % is expected to end up in each soil and sediment.

Based on the physical chemical properties of 2 -EHA, the atmosphere is the main target compartment for distribution and only small amounts will remain in the hydrosphere and geosphere.

However, it should be noted that final distribution depends on initial emissions patterns in each exposure scenario.
