Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Phenothiazine is a very potent radical scavenger. The rate constant for the vapor-phase reaction of phenothiazine with photochemically produced hydroxyl radicals has been estimated using the AOPWIN v.192 software as 1.8X10 -10 cu cm/molecule-sec at 25 deg C. This corresponds to an atmospheric half-life of about 0.73 hours at an atmospheric concentration of 1.5X10 +6 hydroxyl radicals per cu cm.

Because Phenothiazine is a solid with very low vapour pressure and a density > 1 it is not expected, that it is present in significant amounts in the atmosphere.
