First-aid measures

General advice:

Remove affected person from danger area. First aid personnel should pay attention to their own

safety. Remove contaminated clothing. If the patient is likely to become unconscious, place and

transport in stable sideways position (recovery position). Show container, label and/or safety data

sheet to physician.

If inhaled:

Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.

On skin contact:

Wash thoroughly with soap and water.

On contact with eyes:

Wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open.

On ingestion:

Rinse mouth and then drink plenty of water.

Note to physician:

Treatment: Symptomatic treatment (decontamination, vital functions).

Fire-fighting measures

Specific hazards:

carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides

Special protective equipment:

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information:

Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. Collect contaminated extinguishing

water separately, do not allow to reach sewage or effluent systems. Dispose of fire debris and

contaminated extinguishing water in accordance with official regulations.

Accidental release measures

Avoid dust formation.

Environmental precautions:

Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up:

For small amounts: Pick up with suitable appliance and dispose of.

For large amounts: Pick up with suitable appliance and dispose of.

Handling and storage

Handling

Breathing must be protected when large quantities are decanted without local exhaust ventilation.

Protection against fire and explosion:

Avoid dust formation. Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire

extinguishers should be kept handy.

Storage

Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed and dry; store in a cool

place.
