First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air; if symptoms persist seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water; if symptoms persist seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain oxides of carbon, sulphur
and nitrogen as well as soot. It is advisable to wear
breathing protection. Suitable extinguishing agents are
water spray, carbon dioxide, foam and dry powder.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Powder: Dampen and sweep up. Dispose of at a licensed
landfill site or incineration unit fitted with waste gas
scrubbers. Solution: Absorb with dry agent (eg. sand or
earth). Dispose of at a licensed landfill site or
incineration unit fitted with waste gas scrubbers.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid skin contact and inhalation of dust. Wear gloves and
a respirator if necessary. Respirators should satisfy DIN
58645 part 2 (PREN 146) or BS 2091 B

Storage: No special precautions.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Cases of respiratory sensitisation have been observed with
reactive dyes. If symptoms occur, all work with reactive
dyes must cease immediately and medical attention should be
sought.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for re-use is not economic.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Large quantities should not be dumped at landfill sites
since the substance is not readily biodegradable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration at a licensed facility is the preferred means
of disposal. Waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen and
sulphur oxides should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is not readily biodegradable but, it is of
low aquatic toxicity.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain
